A monthly class to try a handstand for the first time, or make some new shapes!
Handstand (Adho Mukha Vrksasana) is a challenging and exhilarating pose with many benefits for the body and the mind.
In this class you will have the opportunity to…
- learn the technique and alignment for handstand
- practice postures which can help you find the strength and stability needed in the pose
- practice handstand variations and transitions (if you feel ready!)
You do not need to be able to do a handstand to come along, Ashley will teach you preparatory poses to build your confidence and you can try this exhilarating pose in a safe space.
If you already have a handstand practice you will be given the opportunity to take your practice further with different variations and transitions.
You will work according to your energy on the day, you can rest at any time if you’ve had enough. There will be space and time towards the end of the class to wind down and release those handstanding muscles!
This class will run once a month so you can regularly practice going upside down in a safe environment with an experienced teacher.
This class are not suitable for complete beginners to yoga, but are suitable for those with a regular yoga practice. If you are unsure, please contact us.
