Taking inspiration from some of the founding texts of yoga and contemporary wisdom on Buddhism and mindfulness, these workshops will enliven your practice. Experience yoga in greater depth and richness, through the awareness and felt experience of what it is to be more whole, more yoga as well as to do the practices of yoga. Each workshop combines asana, pranayama and meditation in a philosophical framework. The workshops are suitable to all levels except complete beginners, with the asana work adapted to suit those present.
The Buddha taught that to realize enlightenment, a person must develop two qualities: wisdom and compassion: Prajna and Karuna. Wisdom and compassion are sometimes compared to two wings that work together to enable flying, or two eyes that work together to see deeply.
This workshops gives us time to explore prajna- wisdom, or discernment to see what it is right now that we need in life and what we can let go of. To support this process we work with Karuna- compassion towards ourselves and others.
To shift and balance the relevant energy centres/ chakras- we will practice some flowing asana including backbends, sound/ chanting, inversions and meditation. This mindful practice will inspire you to maintain a deep, awakened yoga practice.
